The Blitz - Submit your questions for UPC’s Ronan Gallagher
Wednesday, November 25th, 2009Villa81 proudly announced the launch of a new interview segment through our Twitter page last week. The Blitz is a new rapid fire interview segment where we will ask questions submitted by our viewers to leading figures in business and IT.
The first subject facing the camera will be Ronan Gallagher who is the Strategy & Planning manager at UPC Ireland.
Readers can submit questions either by sending a direct message to through our Twitter account, emailing villa81videos@gmail.com or by leaving a comment on this post. Note however that we will not publish any questions on this page. If you leave a comment with a question in it we’ll take note of the question and remove it before publishing the comment, the reason for this can be seen in our explanation of the format.
The format of this interview and indeed all future pieces in The Blitz will be as follows.
- Questions are submitted by visitors of Villa81.com.
- The subject will know the topics in advance but not the specific question.
- The subject will have 5 minutes in total to answer questions.
- The clock starts once the interviewer has completed answering the first question.
- The subject will be informed when there is 1 minute remaining.
- The interview will cease as soon as the 5 minute mark is hit.
- The unedited interview will then be posted on Villa81.com
As we will be working within a tight time-frame some clear rules have been laid down so as to make sure the subject gives clear, concise answers.
- Use of buzz-words, jargon, and any other terminology that is likely to include phrases like ‘knowledge economy’, ‘thought leadership’, and ’synergy’ will not be tolerated in any way. We want language that someone with no knowledge of business or technology will understand perfectly.
- Likewise dawdling on an answer will result in the interviewer proceeding on directly to the next question.
- No answer, irrespective of the clarity and quality of information, will be allowed to exceed the 40 second mark. This is the upper limit and the interviewer will at their discretion proceed to subsequent questions once they feel a question has been answered sufficiently.
This promises to be an exciting and informative new segment here on Villa81 but it will only work if you get involved. Submit your questions anytime between now and 5pm on Thursday the 3rd of December. The interview with Ronan Gallagher will appear here on the 10 of December.
